The Fesches-le-Chatel factory dates from 1826 and claims the world's first stamped saucepan. Cristel as a company was reborn in 1983 when the workers bought it out as a cooperative. The removable handle system is the signature, and the company will recoat a worn non-stick pan for a fraction of the price of a new one.
