RWE is a German utility that has shifted from a coal-heavy past toward renewables, becoming one of Europe's largest developers of wind and solar power.

RWE strengthened its offshore-wind position through a 2020 asset swap with E.ON and is phasing out its remaining coal generation over the coming years.
