Scotch Whisky

United Kingdom United Kingdom

Scotch Whisky is a protected geographical indication: to carry the name it must be distilled and matured in Scotland for at least three years in oak casks, to legally defined rules. From peaty Islay malts to gentle Speysides, it is one of the world's most valuable food-and-drink exports.

The imitation is any ‘Scotch-style’ or ‘Highland-style’ whisky made outside Scotland. Only Scottish-made, Scottish-matured whisky is the real Scotch.
