Leonidas is a Belgian chocolatier founded in 1913 by the Greek-born confectioner Leonidas Kestekides, and one of the most accessible big Belgian names. Its fresh pralines and ballotin boxes are made with 100% pure cocoa butter and sold through more than 1,000 outlets in around 40 countries.
The brand is positioned as everyday Belgian chocolate rather than fine dining, and it uses certified sustainable cocoa, though it reports relatively little on sustainability. With a few hundred staff, Leonidas is the approachable end of the Belgian tradition.
