Amedei is a tiny Tuscan bean-to-bar chocolatier founded in 1990 in Pontedera by Cecilia Tessieri, one of the first female maître chocolatiers. Its award-winning single-origin dark bars, including the famous Porcelana, are often described as among the finest and most expensive chocolate in the world.
Amedei has been owned by the Italian Ferrarelle Group since 2017, and with only 30 to 50 staff it remains a craft producer. Direct single-origin sourcing gives Amedei strong traceability.
