Albrecht von Dewitz founded Vaude in Tettnang in 1974. His daughter Antje von Dewitz has been CEO since 2009 and the family owns the company outright. Vaude bought the climbing brand Edelrid in 2006. The Tettnang factory makes up to 400,000 waterproof bags a year with about 55 staff. Vaude is open that the majority of its products are made in Asia and publishes its full factory list every year.
