Oriflame was founded in Stockholm in 1967 by the Jochnick brothers and sells through independent consultants rather than shops. The head office is now in Switzerland, and production sits in Poland, India and China.
The company promotes biodegradable formulas and plastic reduction, and its catalogues carry vegan and natural-origin labels. It has no B Corp certification and no dated net-zero target. In 2023 it sold its Russian manufacturing unit, but the direct-selling business in Russia carried on, and a Russian catalogue is still published every month.
Our verdict: weak. Selling the factory was a half step. Staying in the market cancels it out.
