Is LVMH Beauty Ethical? Dior, Guerlain and LIFE 360

LVMH owns Dior Beauty, Guerlain, Givenchy Parfums, Fenty Beauty and the Sephora chain, which makes it the largest luxury beauty group in Europe. Production is mainly in France, including Dior's plant in Saint-Jean-de-Braye and Guerlain's in Chartres.

The group's LIFE 360 programme sets targets for 2023, 2026 and 2030 on climate, biodiversity and circular design, and the beauty houses report against them. Guerlain funds bee conservation, Dior runs its own flower gardens in Grasse, and refillable formats now cover a growing share of fragrance and skincare. LVMH closed its 124 stores in Russia in March 2022.

Our verdict: good. Detailed reporting and real packaging work, held back by the sheer volume of a luxury group and by targets that are dated rather than met.
