Henkel

Germany Germany

Henkel has been in Düsseldorf since 1876 and is better known for Persil, Pritt and Loctite than for beauty. Its consumer brands arm owns Schwarzkopf, Syoss, Fa and Dial, with production in 55 countries.

The group targets net zero by 2045 and climate-positive production by 2030, with interim goals reported every year. Packaging targets cover recycled content and recyclability by 2030. Henkel sold its Russian business in April 2023 to a local consortium, one of the earlier clean exits among German consumer groups.

Our verdict: good. Clear, dated targets and an early Russia exit. The caveat is that beauty is a minor line, so the brand-level story is thin.
