Clarins was founded in Paris in 1954 by Jacques Courtin-Clarins and is still owned by the family. Double Serum is its best-known product. Skincare is made in France, and the company grows part of its plant ingredients at its own Domaine Clarins in the Alps.
On sustainability the brand talks about responsible sourcing and lighter packaging, but publishes no net-zero date and holds no B Corp certification. The decisive point is Russia. Trackers still list Clarins as selling there, online and through retail, more than four years after the invasion.
Our verdict: weak. Good products and local production do not offset staying in Russia.
