Beiersdorf has made Nivea in Hamburg since 1911 and also owns Eucerin, La Prairie, Hansaplast and Chantecaille. The Herz family holding Maxingvest owns a majority, which keeps the company German-controlled.
The climate numbers are among the best on this list. Beiersdorf cut scope 1 to 3 emissions by 33% against 2018 by 2025, beating its own target, and aims for net zero by 2045 with all production sites climate-neutral by 2030. Packaging goals for 2030 include 50% recycled or renewable plastic and more than 90% recyclable designs. On Russia the picture is weaker: the company halted investment and advertising in 2022 but kept selling basic skincare there.
Our verdict: mixed. Strong on climate, held back by the choice to keep selling in Russia.
