Meyer Burger is a Swiss company, headquartered in Thun, that became known for high-efficiency heterojunction solar cells and modules and its SmartWire cell-connection technology.

Meyer Burger closed its German module production in Freiberg in 2024 and its German subsidiaries filed for insolvency in 2025 amid heavy price pressure from Chinese imports, so its European manufacturing has effectively stopped.
