Known for: Paris-based foundation-model lab building open-weight LLMs that compete with GPT-class models. Founded in 2023 by former Meta and Google researchers. Valued at around €12 billion after a 2025 round led by the Dutch chip-equipment giant ASML. Europe's answer to OpenAI, offering sovereign AI infrastructure that European governments and enterprises can actually deploy.
