Digitec Galaxus started in 2001 as a small Zurich electronics shop under the Digitec name, and the Galaxus brand was added later as the general-merchandise sister store. Swiss retail cooperative Migros bought a 70 percent stake in 2015, which funded the move abroad: Germany in 2018, Austria in 2021, then France, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands in 2023. The group passed CHF 2.7 billion in revenue and four million customers in 2023, and runs its EU business from Germany with its own warehouse in Krefeld rather than through third-party logistics.
