Three students founded Coolblue in 1999, and founder Pieter Zwart still leads the company with Dutch investor HAL holding a minority stake. Rather than run a marketplace, Coolblue sells its own stock and controls the whole chain from warehouse to doorstep, which is why it can offer evening delivery windows and take your old appliance away.
