Alza began as Alzasoft, a one-man computer shop in Prague, and grew into the Czech Republic's biggest online retailer with roughly a fifth of the country's e-commerce. Alza opened its marketplace to outside sellers in 2022 and now runs localised shops in neighbouring countries and an English-language storefront for the rest of Europe. The green alien mascot is impossible to miss in Czechia. For electronics and gadgets in particular, Alza is the closest Central European equivalent to Amazon's tech aisles.
