Napoleon (Canada)

Napoleon (Canada)

Napoleon is one of North America's largest privately owned makers of grills, fireplaces and heating products — and a direct rival to Weber at the premium end.

Known for: high-end gas grills such as the Rogue and Prestige lines, plus charcoal kettles and kamados. The company began in 1976 as Wolf Steel Ltd., started by Wolfgang and Ingrid Schroeter in a garage in Barrie, Ontario, building steel railings and then wood-burning stoves; the Napoleon grill brand followed in 1995.

Today it employs around 1,600 people worldwide, with its higher-end lines made in Canada and the USA and entry models produced at the company's own overseas plant. Owners consistently rate its build quality, distinctive wave cooking grids and features as on par with — or beyond — Weber, backed by strong warranties and support.
