Dropbox Alternatives
Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive and iCloud are not the only options. Europe has excellent alternatives with stronger privacy, better pricing, EU data hosting and open-source software.
Google Drive scans your data. OneDrive pushes a Microsoft 365 subscription. Dropbox limits free accounts to three devices. iCloud locks you into Apple. The services on this list give you more control over your files without the trade-offs.

Known for: The open-source platform most other European workspaces are built on. Files, real-time documents, calendar, contacts, and Talk for chat and video, self-hosted or run for you by a European provider. The serious choice for teams and organisations that want to own their stack.
Pricing: Free and open-source to self-host. Managed and enterprise plans available from European providers.
pCloud
Pricing: 500 GB €49.99/year, 2 TB €99.99/year, lifetime plans available; business 1 TB €7.99/user/month annual.
Known for: Swiss cloud with apps on every platform, optional zero-knowledge encryption and one-time lifetime plans.
Proton Drive
