Inkscape is a free, open-source vector editor and the leading no-cost alternative to Adobe Illustrator. Built around the open SVG standard, it runs natively on Linux, Windows and macOS and is a favourite for logos, diagrams and technical drawing.
It is comprehensive and completely free, though the interface can feel clunky and less polished than commercial tools. For technical and open-standards work it is an excellent, privacy-friendly choice that avoids any subscription.
