Murfy started from a French environment agency figure: of 28 million household appliances that break down in France each year, only 2.4 million get repaired. The name is a nod to Murphy's law. Murfy employs its technicians on permanent contracts and also sells refurbished machines through Label Emmaüs, the solidarity reuse marketplace.
