Bolt

Bolt

Estonia Estonia

Bolt is Estonia's answer to Uber, and one of the biggest mobility platforms to come out of Europe. Founder-controlled and still headquartered in Tallinn, it runs ride-hailing, scooters, e-bikes and food delivery in a single app across around 50 countries in Europe, Africa and Latin America, with roughly 200 million users.

Where Uber and Lyft bolt extra services onto a ride-hailing core, Bolt was built multi-modal from early on. Fares typically undercut Uber by 10 to 20 percent where both operate, and scooter rentals start from about 1 euro to unlock plus 20 cents a minute. For anyone who wants a European-run alternative for getting around a city, it is the obvious first choice.
