Tequila Works was a Madrid studio, founded in 2009 by Raúl Rubio Munárriz, known for a distinctive, art-led approach to games such as Rime, Deadlight, The Sexy Brutale and Gylt. Rime in particular is still well regarded as a thoughtful adventure game.
After prolonged financial difficulties, the studio filed for insolvency in late 2024, its founders stepped down, and it is being wound down with its game rights put up for auction. Tequila Works is included here as a notable part of the recent European scene rather than an active studio.
