# Tefal

>
Known for: The biggest non-stick pan brand in Europe and the inventor of the category. Ingenio removable-handle sets, the Thermo-Spot red dot, and the SEB pressure cookers sold under the Tefal name. The supermarket default, and a better one than its reputation suggests when you pick the French-made lines.
Manufactured in: Frying pans and saute pans in Rumilly and Tournus, all pressure cookers in Selongey, France. Entry-level promotional pans, bakeware and most small appliances in Asia. Check the base for "Made in France".

Tefal belongs to Groupe SEB, the French group that also owns Lagostina, WMF and Krups. The Rumilly plant in Haute-Savoie employs 1,600 people and turns out around 35 million items a year. Tefal states that 80 percent of what it sells in France is made in France; the share is lower in export markets, so origin varies by model.
