# MB WAY

SIBS has run Portugal's shared payment infrastructure since the 1980s and launched MB WAY in 2015 as its mobile layer. Some 28 MB WAY financial institutions backed the April 2026 in-store proof of concept. MB WAY is also the sending side of the current BLIK euro transfer pilot, where Santander Bank Polska customers receive euros from Portuguese users.
