Lonza is a Swiss company headquartered in Basel and founded in 1897 in the Lonza valley, and is the world's leading contract development and manufacturing organisation for pharmaceuticals.

When companies such as Roche, Pfizer, Novartis, BioNTech or Moderna make a biologic at scale, it often comes out of a Lonza facility, making it one of the most strategically important and least visible Swiss companies. Lonza is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange.
