Surfrider Foundation Europe is a French-founded coastal-and-ocean protection NGO based in Biarritz since 1990, funded by members, private donors, foundations and public grants. It works across Europe on marine litter, water quality and coastal-development issues, backed by a large network of volunteer chapters.

It combines grassroots beach clean-ups and citizen water-quality monitoring with lobbying in Brussels, where it has been an active voice on EU marine-litter and single-use-plastics policy.
