ClientEarth uses strategic litigation to hold governments and corporations to account on the environment, with around 200 staff across the UK, EU, Poland, Spain and China and funding from foundations (Oak, MacArthur, Children's Investment Fund) and private donors.

It has won multiple UK Supreme Court cases on illegal air pollution, forcing the government to publish proper air-quality plans, sued Shell's board over its climate strategy and helped block new coal plants across Poland and Czechia — making it the most legally consequential environmental NGO in Europe.
