# Kaufland

It covers thousands of categories from electronics and home to garden, toys and sport.<br><strong>Available in:</strong> Germany, Austria, Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, France and Italy, with Spain and the Netherlands announced for late 2026. Each country shop is in the local language, no English version.</p>

Schwarz Group bought the http://real.de marketplace from Metro and turned it into http://kaufland.de in April 2021, then rolled the same platform out across Central and Western Europe as Kaufland Global Marketplace. Sellers list once and reach every country shop, which has pulled in around 15,000 merchants. The backing of one of Europe's largest retail groups and a network of 1,600 physical stores make Kaufland a serious general-purpose alternative, especially if you already shop there for groceries.
