Larian Studios is a privately held, founder-controlled studio based in Ghent, Belgium, founded in 1996. Larian Studios built its name on the Divinity: Original Sin role-playing games before releasing Baldur's Gate 3 in 2023.

Baldur's Gate 3 swept Game of the Year at The Game Awards, the DICE Awards, BAFTA and GDC, and showed that a roughly 400-person Belgian studio could outclass much larger American productions. Larian has since stepped away from Baldur's Gate to work on its own new projects.
