Cornish Pasty

The Cornish Pasty is protected (a UK GI, formerly an EU PGI): a D-shaped pasty crimped on the side, filled with beef, potato, swede and onion, seasoned and baked — never with pre-cooked filling — and prepared in Cornwall. Once the portable lunch of tin miners, it is now a national favourite.

The imitation is any generic ‘Cornish-style’ pasty made and filled elsewhere. Only pasties prepared in Cornwall to the recipe may carry the name.
