# RECUP

>
Known for: Germany's biggest deposit system for reusable takeaway cups and bowls, from Munich. You pay €1 deposit for a RECUP cup or €5 for a REBOWL and return it to any partner café, bakery or restaurant, where it is washed and reused instead of thrown away. Also available in Austria.

RECUP started in 2016 with a coffee cup and added the REBOWL for takeaway food in 2020. The company makes its cups and bowls itself and rents them to businesses through a partner portal. At its tenth anniversary in 2026, RECUP repositioned the brand as an everyday habit rather than a sustainability product, and is now preparing wider European expansion.
