Colnago is one of the most storied Italian frame-makers, based in Cambiago near Milan and founded in 1954 by Ernesto Colnago, who is still alive in his nineties and consulted on design. Colnago is the bike most associated with Tadej Pogačar's dominance of the 2020s grand tours.

The ownership caveat is worth flagging: an Abu Dhabi investment fund, Chimera Investments, took a majority stake in 2020. Manufacturing and design stay in Cambiago, and Ernesto Colnago keeps a small share and a guiding role.
