Cycling is one of the few large global product categories where Europe still genuinely dominates. The Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España are regularly won on European bikes. The Italian and German premium frame-makers set the price ceiling and the technical agenda, and even the direct-to-consumer disruption (Canyon) is European. American premium brands like Trek, Specialized and Cannondale compete at the top of the market, but they don't define it.

The picks below skew towards road, gravel and racing. Mountain biking has historically been more US-driven, though Germany's Canyon and Cube play seriously there too.
