BlaBlaCar has around 100 million members across 22 markets, including France, Spain, Italy, Brazil and India, and added coaches through BlaBlaCar Bus after acquiring Ouibus in 2019.

BlaBlaCar is a genuinely European idea that the big American apps never really replicated: long-distance travel shared between ordinary drivers rather than professional ones. Passengers usually pay around 75 to 85 percent of the equivalent train fare, and BlaBlaCar takes a small platform fee on top. For intercity trips on a budget, it is often cheaper and more flexible than the train.
